Was checking out at Target today, and the cashier sees me bring up a cat litter box, litter, and a big bag of cat food.

Cashier: *gleefully smiles* "Awwww, you must have a new kitten!"
Me: "No... just have a really fat cat who eats and poops a lot."
Cashier: >.> "Oooookkk......................." *goes quiet*

Hey, there's just more of him to love.

  1. This has nothing to do with the blog. Nicci was "deaths mistress" who named Jagang the Just. Kidnapped Richard after Kahlan failed to touch her with her power and eventually blamed Ann for their troubles. Faith of the Fallen is my favorite book. Ne how I was trying to find out why your name was Nicci. If I'm wrong then correct me.

  2. Kahlan was right though, in a way.. I guess it comes down to the question: how much are we actually in control of? Or will things happen regardless of our attempts at the contrary? If not by one means, perhaps another...
Nicci spent her whole life striving to help the world the only way she knew how, at any cost.. to me her story is the most intriguing of all.

  3. I agree that Kahlan was right in her feelings towards Ann for the most part. I believe roles constrict free will. Richard for example can't escape his role as Seeker. So he kills not because he wants to but because he's rationalized that he has to for the sake of freedom and the D'Haran Empire he never wanted.
Kahlan as the role of Mother Confessor could never be with a man unless she wanted to take him in the process. As you know Richard as the Seeker knows this as well. This is one of the most interesting aspects of the story because Richard and Kahlan defy the odds and find a way. In this revelation they've both defied their roles.
Nicci commands such expansive power and I couldn't help but employ empathy (not sympathy) towards her. She was doing the best she could with the only way she knew how to. She technically wasn't wrong as I see it. She was just a product of everything she was indoctrinated with as a child. I don't think Nicci or Richard were that much different. They were both spreading their own truth just as opposite hues of the spectrum.
