Search for the answers I knew all along
I lost myself, we all fall down
Never the wiser of what I've become
Alone I stand
All I have is one last chance
I won't turn my back on you
Take my hand, drag me down
If you fall then I will too
And I can't save what's left of you
Sing something new
I have nothing left
I can't face the dark without you
There's nothing left to lose
The fight never ends
I can't face the dark without you
Swallow me under and pull me apart
I understand there's nothing left
Pain so familiar and close to the heart
No more, no less, I won't forget
Come back down, save yourself
I can't find my way to you
And I can't bear to face the truth
I wanted to forgive
I'm trying to forget
Dont leave me here again
I am with you
Forever
The end
Holding the hand that holds me down
I forgive you
Forget you
The end

When the gray curtain of our world rolls back and reveals the next, in whatever afterlife may there be, I wish with all my heart to see you there, to spend the remainder of eternity engaged in the intricate dance of minds entwined... asking for your thoughts on such matters as the sum of the collective knowledge of the universe, and reveling in the neverending ecstasy I experience when hearing your casual reply.

"You live long enough to hear the sound of guns
Long enough to find yourself screaming every night
Long enough to see your friends betray you."
Uncertainty and doubt have plagued my thoughts and dreams for the last week. With no one to turn to for answers, I find myself taking comfort in music.
In particular, I am drawn to a certain album.. not for the songs it contains, but for the beautiful story inspiring the lyrics.. the insatiable need to express, until pain shatters the walls holding back creativity, and it flows unending, powerful waves shaping all it touches. Words left unspoken for so long, now cry out, but in vain. Falling on deaf ears.
This story is of a poet and a siren. He wrote the words for her to sing; their combination unique, beautiful. Through the lovely siren, the world heard the words of the poet. Together they touched many lives with song.
And he loved her. In every lyric, in every song, he told her so. The poet adored his beautiful siren, and the words he wrote were for her, the songs she sang were for her. The world shared in his joy and loved her too.
But the siren did not see his love. She became manipulated by another man, and she betrayed the poet.
Then he was alone.
The poet had lost his siren.
His pain became his songs, and the world knew of his love and his loss.
"Did you ever hear what I told you?
Did you ever read what I wrote you?"
"For the heart I'll never have
For the child forever gone
The music flows, because it longs
For the heart I once had."
Long enough to find yourself screaming every night
Long enough to see your friends betray you."

This post is titled: Putting things in their proper place.
And by "things," I mean people.
A friend of mine lets a girl treat him like dirt. She uses him for his money and his time, and she gives almost nothing in return. I told him the reason is that she doesn't respect him, because he's made it clear that he will put up with all of the hurtful things she does and still keep giving her attention.
So, I told him, it's time to put her in her place. He needs to make her feel a certain measure of unwanted and uncared for, that he's not always going to be there for her, that she's on her own, and she can only come to him on his terms.
He's been too much of a nice guy for too long, and he wants my help. Fortunately, I've become an expert on how to treat someone like that. Because it's how you treat me.

/contented purr...
I was once told that the kinds of music you enjoy resonate with your individual energy, and that people who love the same kind of music as you also resonate with your energy; that you share something in common, whatever small part of your soul that is inexplicably drawn to the same kind of music.
So... what part of my soul do I share with the other fans of black/industrial metal, I wonder... ?
My new favorite Pandora channel will probably scare away most of the population. But I don't care. I love love love it, and I'm not sorry. <3
How ironic that the sweetest person I know introduced me to this kind of music. Thank you, Christophe, for showing me this amazing song that started my latest craze.
Before we could talk we were singing
Before we could walk we were dancing
Life is short but not a day is lost
The world goes round and round
And we go on and on...
Beijing to Amsterdam
Berlin to Buenos Aires
Sydney to L.A.
Rio to Abidjan
Stockholm to Athena
Dublin to Guatemala
London to Brasilia
Madrid to Philadelphia
Paris to San Francisco
Detroit to Warszawa
Moscow to Mexico
Oslo to New Dehli
Helsinki to New Orleans
Vienna to Lisboa
On earth, we're all
Dancing with the hidden tribe
Learning to move and fly
Touching the sky with our hands
Longing to love to understand
One world
Our world
