We are friends because, if for no other reason, you share in my complete awe of the intricate beauty of the world around us.

The sky calls to us
And if we do not destroy ourselves
we will one day venture to the stars

  1. Internal melodies, intricate drawings
Intersected by some game of chance

My musical form, as your’ drawing board
Are less like diagrams of the heart than an ode
To the persistence and imagination of the human soul

We both play with our fingers
To dream, you create a ballet
Of pencil strokes and calculated shading

We both play with our fingers
To dream, I pluck the next strings
And turn them into a ballet of melodies

And as we marvel at the marble
    And the word “LIFE” inscribed
You’ll pick up your pencil and me my guitar
We’ll create art forms as sure as reasons to try

  2. Simply gorgeous.

Felt this needed mentioning here as well.

I've been trying to find a way to sum up the power of Richard's statue, and I think you did it quite poignantly. Art and music go hand in hand- I can't draw well unless I'm listening to music. When you play, or write, you probably conjure up images in your mind. Your task is to evoke those images. Mine is to put them to paper.
